Columbia, MD: June 6, 2011-The National Association of Credit Management (NACM) has recognized Donald G. Kruggel, CBF of Peoria, Arizona, as the recipient of the 2011 CBF Designation of Excellence Award. Kruggel was honored at NACM's 115th Annual Credit Congress and Exposition, held in Nashville, Tennessee, May 22-25.
The Credit Business Fellow (CBF) designation is NACM's intermediate professional certification. Individuals earning the CBF have met specific academic and participation-based benchmarks, and are knowledgeable about and have contributed to the field of business credit. NACM's Designation of Excellence Awards honor those designation holders who strive for excellence in all aspects of their professional development. Based on his noteworthy record of accomplishments and service, Don Kruggel was chosen as this year's outstanding CBF designee.
As senior credit administrator-corporate accounts for W.W. Grainger, Mr. Kruggel is responsible for measuring the creditworthiness of more than 11,600 accounts from across the United States. The accounts have a combined credit exposure of $54.8 million and represent an average accounts receivable balance of $18 million. He works with six direct reports as well as sales and financial support services staff. Mr. Kruggel is a self-described "behind the scenes" person who is passionate about the credit profession. As he notes, the "credit individual can be the one [person] who sees a transaction from start to finish."
Beyond his professional responsibilities, Mr. Kruggel is an active member in his local affiliate NACM of Arizona/Southwest Business Credit Services, as well as the local chapter of the Credit and Financial Development Division (CFDD), which is NACM's educational unit. He currently is serving on the CFDD Phoenix Board of Directors and also oversees publicity initiatives for the chapter.
In all aspects, Mr. Kruggel is committed to the tenets of lifelong learning and professional development. He earned both his undergraduate degree in business management and an MBA from Western International University while working full time. Mr. Kruggel was elected to Delta Mu Delta, an international honor society for business students, and the Golden Key International Honor Society. He will be coalescing his professional experience with his well-honed academic skills as a newly minted instructor in NACM's Credit Administration Program (CAP) and Advanced Credit Administration Program (ACAP).
