July 19, 2012: Columbia, MD‚ÄĒThe National Association of Credit Management (NACM) honored Jason Sanborn, CBA of Blaine as the 2012 Student of the Year during the association's 116th Annual Credit Congress and Exposition, held in Grapevine, Texas, June 10-13, 2012.
Sanborn clearly demonstrates his commitment to education. He only started pursuing his professional development in late 2009, but since has completed three Credit Administration Program classes provided by his NACM affiliate, Forius Business Credit Resources, based in Minneapolis. The completion of these courses culminated in the achievement of his Credit Business Associate (CBA) designation in 2011. In addition to pursuing the next-level designation, the Credit Business Fellow (CBF), Sanborn has volunteered for Forius by participating in the formation of the Emerging Leaders networking group and is serving on the Emerging Leaders Committee. An active participant in Forius' plumbing industry credit group, he has also presented a video on the importance of industry credit groups. "Jason is the epitome of an emerging credit professional," said Toni Nuernberg, CAE, president and COO of Forius.
Sanborn has also been acknowledged by his employer, J.H. Larson Company, for successfully overseeing the transition of moving the A/R function from branch offices to corporate headquarters soon after beginning employment as Larson's accounts receivable manager. Larson is a family-owned, independent distributor of electrical, plumbing, HVAC and data comm products with seven locations in Minnesota, Wisconsin and South Dakota.
In addition to his CBA designation, he holds an AAS in Business Management from Anoka Ramsey Community College and a BS in Business Administration from Metropolitan State University.
