Award Presented by the National Association of Credit Management
July 19, 2012: Columbia, MD—The National Association of Credit Management (NACM) has recognized Duane Schwartz, CCE of Plymouth, as the 2012 Instructor of the Year. Schwartz was feted at NACM's 116th Annual Credit Congress and Exposition, held in Grapevine, Texas, June 10-13, 2012.
Schwartz is the credit manager for The Tile Shop, LLC in Plymouth. As an educated credit professional, Schwartz has shown his passion for sharing this knowledge by stepping into the role of teacher. When the sole instructor of Schwartz's NACM affiliate—Forius Business Credit Resources in Minneapolis—retired, "Duane was not only the first to volunteer, but also the first to teach," said Toni Nuernberg, Forius president and COO. "Duane has embraced his role as the primary instructor for the Business Credit Principles class and enhanced it by adding an online community where the students can interact with the instructors as well as network with each other." Schwartz has also taught other Forius Credit Administration Program (CAP) and Advanced Credit Administration Program (ACAP) classes.
He cares about his students and takes the time to address their needs. He also challenges and encourages them to learn, broaden their horizons and reach through active participation. Through his mentoring, he stresses credit education and the importance it has on the overall success of a company.
Schwartz is an avid supporter of the NACM organization. He has served on the board of directors for NACM-National, Forius and NACM's education division, CFDD Twin Cities (local chapter). CFDD (the Credit and Financial Development Division) is NACM's education division which focuses on mentoring and networking. He is also active in Forius' floorcovering industry credit group, and served as its chairman in 2007-2008 and again in 2010-2011.
The National Association of Credit Management warmly congratulates Duane Schwartz, CCE on being honored as the 2012 Instructor of the Year.
