Is the credit department in your organization under rated? Are you considered part of the “team” and getting the support and recognition you deserve? Or, are you perceived as “black and white,” hard to work with, and your sales people avoid you at all costs?

This is a common frustration many credit professional experience. When you have a better understanding of your organizations structure and culture, you can develop a strategic plan that guarantees success. This session is designed to pinpoint key components to successful credit leadership by evaluating and addressing challenges your credit department, your sales department, and the entire company overall. Understanding the different personality traits, and gaining a better understanding of the daily challenges your peers and upper management face, will change the way you are perceived and gain the respect and backing you deserve.

Company officials clearly understand that sales generate revenue, but they may not understand the true impact cash flow has on the financial stability and growth of the organization. Tracking and reporting simple, easy to understand measurements that tie Sales and Credit to the same goals and objectives, will promote and encourage teamwork. Learn how to be a resource to the Sales Department by identifying the problem areas, and turning them into opportunity in terms of profits.

Bio:
Susan Archibeque, CCE is the Director of Credit and Assistant Controller for Nicholas and Company, Inc. based in Salt Lake City, Utah. She earned her Bachelors of Science Degree in Business Management through the University of Phoenix in June 1999, and received her CCE in 2002. Susan was elected to NACM BCS Board of Directors in April, 1999.  She served as Vice Chair 2001 – 2002, Chairman 2002 – 2003, and counselor 2003 – 2004.  She continues to serve on the Board as a director. She is an active member with NACM in Salt Lake City, Utah and served as a member and chairperson for NIC/Education Committee, NACM BCS Membership Committee, Nominating Committee, Member of Intermountain Credit Education League, and a member of CFDD. Susan has been Instructor at Salt Lake Community College in Salt Lake City, Utah since 2000 and she is a certified CAP Course instructor- teaching the Principles of Business Credit Course. She has instructed the CBA, CBF and CCE exam review classes. She also served as a board member for the Department of Workforce Services in Salt Lake City, Utah, and she was a member of the Youth Council in 2002. In 2004 she was awarded NACM Business Credit Services Instructor of the Year award. In 2005 she was the Local NACM Credit Executive of the Year award. In 2007 she won the CRF Writing contest which published her article titled - Concurring the Challenge of Overridden Credit Decisions, December 2007 edition.
