Seattle-Area Credit Executive, Lindgren-Boyce, Honored with National Award of Excellence

July 17, 2012: Columbia, MD—The National Association of Credit Management (NACM) has recognized Heidi Lindgren-Boyce, CCE of Snoqualmie as the recipient of the 2012 CCE Designation of Excellence Award.* Lindgren-Boyce was honored at NACM's 116th Annual Credit Congress and Exposition, held in Grapevine, TX, June 10-13, 2012.

Recipients of NACM's Designation of Excellence Awards are dedicated to the credit profession, committed to improving themselves through higher education (achieving certification) and enthusiastic about the difference they can make. For those who know Heidi Lindgren-Boyce, these qualities easily come to mind when considering this dynamic credit professional, enthusiastic volunteer leader and unwavering advocate.

Lindgren-Boyce is the senior credit manager for Seattle-based Star Rentals, Inc., a provider of construction equipment rentals and a used equipment seller with 18 locations throughout the Pacific Northwest. She is the prior recipient of five awards over the years from her local affiliate, NACM-Western Washington-Alaska-Hawai, as well as NACM-National's CBF Designation of Excellence. Fellow NACM members, of Lindgren-Boyce, have said "Her willingness to work hard for this organization has really affected results that benefit us all," and praised her dedication to helping other credit professionals achieve their certification and education goals.

Salt Lake City Credit Professional, D’Ann Johnson, Receives National Award of Excellence

July 17, 2012: Columbia, MD—The National Association of Credit Management (NACM) has recognized D'Ann Johnson, CBF of West Jordan, UT, as the recipient of the 2012 CBF Designation of Excellence Award. Johnson was honored at NACM's 116th Annual Credit Congress and Exposition, held in Grapevine, TX, June 10-13, 2012.

The Credit Business Fellow (CBF) designation is NACM's intermediate professional certification. Individuals earning the CBF have met specific academic and participation-based benchmarks, and are knowledgeable about and have contributed to the field of business credit. NACM's Designation of Excellence Awards honor those designation holders who strive for excellence in all aspects of their professional development. Based on her noteworthy record of accomplishments and service, D'Ann Johnson was chosen as this year's outstanding CBF designee.

July 19, 2012: Columbia, MD—The National Association of Credit Management (NACM) honored Lawrence O'Brien, CCE, ICCE of Algonquin as the 2012 NACM Mentor of the Year during the association's 116th Annual Credit Congress and Exposition, held in Grapevine, Texas, June 10-13.

Lawrence O'Brien, is not only a mentor, but a teacher and volunteer who encourages others to do the same. Guided by that belief, O'Brien implemented a unique approach when he secured budget money to promote continued education and professional designations for the credit staff at his company, Potash Corporation in Northbrook. So far, four of five Potash credit managers have done so, earning their CCE and CICP designations.* In addition, Potash's credit department staff are members of many industry organizations and associations.

July 19, 2012: Columbia, MD—The National Association of Credit Management (NACM) has recognized Duane Schwartz, CCE of Plymouth, as the 2012 Instructor of the Year. Schwartz was feted at NACM's 116th Annual Credit Congress and Exposition, held in Grapevine, Texas, June 10-13, 2012.

Schwartz is the credit manager for The Tile Shop, LLC in Plymouth. As an educated credit professional, Schwartz has shown his passion for sharing this knowledge by stepping into the role of teacher. When the sole instructor of Schwartz's NACM affiliate—Forius Business Credit Resources in Minneapolis—retired, "Duane was not only the first to volunteer, but also the first to teach," said Toni Nuernberg, Forius president and COO. "Duane has embraced his role as the primary instructor for the Business Credit Principles class and enhanced it by adding an online community where the students can interact with the instructors as well as network with each other." Schwartz has also taught other Forius Credit Administration Program (CAP) and Advanced Credit Administration Program (ACAP) classes.

July 19, 2012: Columbia, MD—The National Association of Credit Management (NACM) honored Jason Sanborn, CBA of Blaine as the 2012 Student of the Year during the association's 116th Annual Credit Congress and Exposition, held in Grapevine, Texas, June 10-13, 2012.

Sanborn clearly demonstrates his commitment to education. He only started pursuing his professional development in late 2009, but since has completed three Credit Administration Program classes provided by his NACM affiliate, Forius Business Credit Resources, based in Minneapolis. The completion of these courses culminated in the achievement of his Credit Business Associate (CBA) designation in 2011. The CBA is the first of three academic-based designations administered by NACM, signified by the mastery of three business credit disciplines: basic financial accounting, business credit principles and introductory financial statement analysis.
