June 10, 2013: Columbia, MDâ€”The National Association of Credit Management (NACM) has recognized Ronald Sereika, CCE, CEW of Fairport, NY as the recipient of the 2013 CCE Designation of Excellence Award. Sereika was honored at NACM's 117th Annual Credit Congress and Exposition, held in Las Vegas, Nevada, May 19-22, 2013.
Recipients of NACM's Designation of Excellence Awards are dedicated to the credit profession, committed to improving themselves through higher education (achieving certification) and enthusiastic about the difference they can make. For those who know Ronald Sereika, these qualities easily come to mind when considering this dynamic credit professional, enthusiastic volunteer leader and unwavering advocate.
Sereika is currently the credit manager for CooperVision, Inc., a provider of contact lenses with a strong emphasis on research and development. Sereika manages a team of 16 associates, and is responsible for collections in North America, as well as all international accounts. He firmly believes in treating all accounts as partners, not just customers.
Sereika has a long history of involvement with NACM, and his local affiliate, NACM Upstate New York, said that perhaps his biggest impact has been in educating and mentoring credit professionals in the Rochester and Buffalo areas. Sereika teaches, seeing over 100 students through NACM's credit administration programs, resulting in professional certification for the students. He also began teaching Basic Financial Accounting this year. Sereika has served on various NACM boards and committees, and is a speaker at conferences and other events. These efforts have earned him the NACM-National Instructor of the Year award in 2010, the NACM Upstate New York Credit Executive of the Year in 2011 and he was a finalist for the Global CFO award at CooperVision in 2012.
Sereika holds the Certified Expert Witness (CEW) certification and achieved his Certified Credit Executive (CCE) designation at the prestigious executive-level Graduate School of Credit and Financial Management (GSCFM), held on the campus of Dartmouth College every year. He holds a BS in accounting from State University of New York, College at Fredonia.
Sereika is heavily involved in his community. He mentors for the August Group, an organization that helps people search for employment, and high school and college business students in helping them prepare for interviewing and understand the corporate world. In addition, he is involved with the girl's varsity volleyball team at the high school, currently serves as a member of the YWCA Audit Committee and as a board member of the Jonathan B. Angelone Foundation, a non-profit that raises funds for cancer research, among other current and past activities. He was honored as Volunteer of the Year by the Epilepsy Association of Greater Rochester and also volunteered at the Ronald McDonald House.
