Columbia, MD: June 6, 2011- The National Association of Credit Management (NACM) has recognized Kathy Antoine, CBA, MBA of Glen Ellyn, Illinois, as the recipient of the 2011 CBA Designation of Excellence Award. Antoine was honored at NACM's 115th Annual Credit Congress and Exposition, held in Nashville, Tennessee, May 22-25.
The Credit Business Associate (CBA) designation is NACM's initial professional certification. Individuals earn the CBA by successfully completing three business credit topics (basic financial accounting, business credit principles and introductory financial statement analysis) and then passing a related examination. NACM's Designation of Excellence Awards honor those designation holders who strive for excellence in all aspects of their professional development. Among the many laudable traits this year's outstanding CBA designee Kathy Antoine possesses, her willingness to seek out and implement transformative business solutions may be the most value adding.
Ms. Antoine is a multi-faceted professional who offers a wealth of credit experience augmented by earlier stints in customer service, sales and project management. She is currently a credit analyst for BP Products North America of Warrenville where she has streamlined and documented the process of entering financial information. Her efforts have resulted in more accurate and uniform analyses of customers.
In previous credit-related positions, Ms. Antoine developed a surety bond program to help a commercial customer overcome its inability to pay cash deposits; created a non-sufficient funds check process for multiple offenders leading to a 48 percent reduction of NSF check customers over a three-year period; and organized an internal collection department that saved a projected $1.1 million in outsourcing fees in its first year of operation. The common thread among these initiatives is Ms. Antoine's penchant for problem solving and her creative approach to number-based issues.
Ms. Antoine earned her CBA in July 2010; later this summer, she is preparing to sit for the Certified Credit Executive (CCE) designation, which is NACM's highest and most distinguished certification. Ms. Antoine is a current member of the board of directors for her NACM Affiliate, NACM Midwest, and has served on several affiliate committees, including those for membership and the fall conference.
She holds a BS in marketing from Illinois State University and earned an MBA in operations management and marketing with distinction from DePaul University. Ms. Antoine is an active member of Toastmasters International and has completed Six Sigma Green Belt training. She volunteers at Women on Work (WOW) and Poised for Success, and has been a speaker for the Naperville Young Professionals group and Between Successes.
The National Association of Credit Management warmly congratulates Ms. Antoine on her receipt of the 2011 CBA Designation of Excellence Award.
